Event Description

City of Sauk Centre Community Clean-Up Events

This day features two separate collection events held at the Sauk Centre Civic Arena (818 Centre St) for city residents.

1. HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION

  • Time: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Accepted Items: Paints, cleaners, poisons, roofing tar, fuels, automotive chemicals, sealers, garden chemicals, pool chemicals, fluorescent bulbs, adhesives, aerosols, solvents, mothballs, and mercury.

  • NOT Accepted: Business waste, unknowns, appliances, sharps, pharmaceuticals, antifreeze, explosives, furniture, insulation, medical waste, used motor oil, garbage, tires, carpet, or electronics.

2. SCRAP METAL & E-WASTE CLEAN-UP

  • Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

  • AA Recycling (No Charge): Pots/pans, auto batteries, microwaves, hot water heaters, furnaces, lawn mowers, snow blowers, exercise bikes, dehumidifiers, stoves, dishwashers, dryers, washers, and AC units.

  • AA Recycling (Fee-Based): Small refrigerators ($10), Plastic water softeners ($20), Refrigerators/Freezers ($20). No RV Refrigerators.

  • Albany Recycling (Fee-Based):

    • Mattresses/Box Springs: $65 – $95 depending on size.

    • Tires: $10 – $35 depending on vehicle and rim size.

    • E-Waste: Miscellaneous ($5), Screens 7"-27" ($25), Screens over 27" ($35), Oversized/Console TVs ($50).

Event Location

Both the Household Hazardous Waste Collection and the Scrap Metal & E-Waste Clean-Up will be held at:

Year-Round Disposal Location

For residents who cannot attend the May event, Household Hazardous Waste can be dropped off year-round at the Stearns County facility:

  • Waite Park Household Hazardous Waste Facility 3601 5th St S, Waite Park, MN 56387

Fees/Admission

The fees for the clean-up event are broken down by the vendor handling the items.

AA Recycling Fees

AA Recycling handles scrap metal and standard household appliances.

  • No Charge: Pots and pans, auto batteries, microwaves, hot water heaters, furnaces, lawn mowers, snow blowers, exercise bikes, dehumidifiers, stoves, dishwashers, dryers, washers, and AC units.

  • $10.00 Fee: Small refrigerators (dorm-style).

  • $20.00 Fee: Standard refrigerators, freezers, and plastic water softeners.

  • Note: They strictly do not accept RV refrigerators.

Albany Recycling Fees

Albany Recycling handles electronics, mattresses, and tires.

  • Mattresses & Box Springs:

    • $65.00 – $95.00 per piece (depending on the size).

  • Tires:

    • $10.00 – $35.00 per tire (depending on the vehicle type and if the rim is included).

  • Electronics (E-Waste):

    • Miscellaneous Electronics: $5.00 (printers, towers, small items).

    • Screens (7"–27"): $25.00

    • Screens (Over 27"): $35.00

    • Oversized/Console TVs: $50.00

Household Hazardous Waste

  • No Charge: There is no fee listed for household hazardous waste (paints, chemicals, etc.) for city residents.
